Saying NO to Self doubt

Hello people😊

IIT Kharagpur

Since you are reading this blog, its quite probable you are suffering from self doubt. But you know what, you have come a far way and you are surely gonna make it to the best. Good Luck :)

How often do you feel like you have practiced a lot, but you don't have enough confidence? How often do you find doubting your self?

Its quite normal in students to have self-doubt even though they have practiced a lot. They have prepared very well but due to the surrounding environment like any person they know who couldn't get into the IITs / NITs, they start developing a feeling of self doubt which is very normal. Even I had felt that way so I am gonna share the solution to this.

Here are few worthy words which one of my teacher told me. (This teacher used to teach some other batch but one fine day he decided to share with us this very very valuable information and I really feel grateful he shared this tip). So here I'm forwarding those magical spells to you all.

The very first thing you all need to understand is that in 2 years of your preparation, you do all types of questions that can come in JEE Mains and you also understand every concept around which JEE Advanced question can come. But still you are self-doubting, Right?

Very easy-peasy solution to avoid this self doubt is analyzing or realizing that how much practice and efforts you have done till now.

2nd very very very important tip.

Do not throw any of these:

  • Filled rough copy (where you practiced your questions/exercises/DPPs)
  • Solution copy (The copy you maintain for the solutions of questions that you feel hard to understand/attempt)
  • Empty Pen. Yeah seriously don't throw these too. (Only those which were used during your JEE prep. Don't mix other empty pens/refills )
  • Solved DPPs (Keep all solved DPPs/sheets/question banks)
  • Solved Chocolate Problem chits (When you are done with chocolate problem trick there might be many chits that you have completed 5 times and now lie out of chocolate box)

These all are actually the imprints of your practice and hard work. If you throw them you cannot get back your confidence. But if you have these whenever you are in self-doubt just see them and you will realize you have come a far way and I assure you this will trigger you again to work hard without any self doubt.

"Whenever self-doubt knocks your door ever again, welcome him with your imprints"

Tricks and Tips

Hello people😊 Important Tricks: Here are some tricks to boost your preparations Chocolate Problem Trick This trick is very simple. All you have to do is whenever you attempt a question and get it wrong, simply note that question in a chit and fold it. Don't forget to look at the correct solution. After some time you will have a bunch of chits, shuffle them and pick one. Whatever question of whichever subject comes out, try solving that. If you get it right, mark a star on that chit, fold and reshuffle. Whenever you encounter that chit again, solve it again. If the answer is right, star the chit, but if it is wrong cut one star. Once you receive 5 stars remove that chit from your chocolate box and don't forget to have chocolate for yourself now! You will start this trick in greed but end up with habit of accuracy. Even I have practiced many questions this way and every time I encounter any chocolate question it gets correct automatically. Remember, this trick works only if yo...

How to make short notes?

Hello people😊 Now the very first and obvious question you all might be having right now is, What are Short notes? Is it just framing all the stuff in short sentences? Or writing a few lines about a chapter? Or just copying everything line by line? Ummm, sorry to say but none of them are truly true.  Actually short notes are the sum total of everything you cannot remember for long. In simple words, you should only include the information you know you won't be able to retain for a longer period of time.  Another very obvious question of course. How do you know what topics you won't be able to retain for a longer time?            Also should you make your own short notes or its okay to use someone else's notes?? See while studying, there might be certain things you know beforehand and quite probable you remember them well. There might be some things that skipped out of your mind but you recalled as you read them again. Now these thi...

#BONUS_TIP_No.2 How To Solve A Question in back exercise Correctly

Hello people😊 So as the title of the blog states, today I'm going to share with you all a very cool trick to solve questions in back exercise. This strategy is very simple.  Once you are done with solving examples, you are aware of a lot of tricks and methods to solve different kind of problems. Now you can go for attempting the questions without solutions. How to solve? First read the question properly, then try to identify have you solved an example similar to this problem or not? Probably you have. Now try to recall the steps that were there in examples and in case you are not able to recall the steps in examples, you should view that example once again or else you can proceed with the method as done in the example solving. Now let's proceed to Case 2: If you haven't solved that example before,  try to think what concept is used in the question. Do you know that concept? If yes, then try to solve that question with that concept. If you aren't able to solve then do...
