#BONUS_TIP_No.3 How To Solve A Question paper Correctly

 Hello people😊

IIT Kharagpur

Here I will specifically confine to JEE Advanced.

So you all might have seen JEE Advanced previous year question papers (PYQs). Most probably you are scared after seeing it for the1st time. So lets discuss the best way to solve a JEE Advanced Paper.

When can you start solving PYQs of  JEE Advanced?
It is advisable to solve PYQs of JEE Advanced only and only after you have completed your whole syllabus.

Now once you are in state of solving, the very first step is take a DEEP BREATH. Now before starting the paper choose a subject pattern at random. NEVER EVER HAVE A FIX PATTERN OF SOLVING YOUR QUESTIONS PAPERS like first chemistry, then maths and finally physics or any other fixed pattern. Suppose you chose PMC (i.e., Physics, Maths and finally Chemistry) in a certain paper.
Note: This selection must be done before starting the paper.

How to solve once the sequence is determined?

Now follow the sequence of solving you decided, like in above example PMC. First solve any 3 questions from physics, then Maths and finally Chemistry. Note: Solve only 3 questions per subject in first attempt and following the sequence of questions is not needed. Also don't bother to read the 4th one until you complete your first round of solving.

Probably the paper has 18 questions per subject, so after first round of attempt you can again go for 2 questions per subject this time in the same order. Again for third round go for 2 questions per subject in the same order. This accounts 7 questions per subject. If these 7 questions in every subject is correct, trust me you are doing great. Any average student can easily find at least 8 questions so considering that you are left with just one in each subject so what are you waiting for? Go on, again follow the same order. Now after 8 questions per subject, go through your question paper to find only one question in the same sequence until you have read all the questions. Solve only those you are confident enough.  Don't get trapped in your greed. Also by now you certainly know what subject is easy and what is difficult so focus more on easy ones to lift up your score.

How beneficial is this method?

  • Fore mostly, this method trains your mind to focus on multiple subjects at a time. Therefore your efficiency while switching subjects in JEE papers is maintained.
  • Again this helps you to clear subject cut-off as in JEE Advanced.
  • Identifying easier questions becomes a faster process.
  • Additionally you can easily identify if you are finding any subject hard in the paper after two rounds, therefore you can focus more on the other subjects to enhance your score.
  • Most importantly it helps to minimize negative marking.
How? Here's how.
When you are solving just one subject at a time you often feel yourself under a pressure. But when you have break your steps into rounds, the pressure thing kinda eliminates. Solving just 3 out of 18 questions. Can you imagine how liberating (sukoon) that is then trying to solve all 18 in a row? All you have to follow is 3-2-2-1. And you are done with 50% of paper. Surely then you are left with enough time and knowledge about what subjects are easy or hard for you. So now you can easily work on boosting your score.

Tricks and Tips

Hello people😊 Important Tricks: Here are some tricks to boost your preparations Chocolate Problem Trick This trick is very simple. All you have to do is whenever you attempt a question and get it wrong, simply note that question in a chit and fold it. Don't forget to look at the correct solution. After some time you will have a bunch of chits, shuffle them and pick one. Whatever question of whichever subject comes out, try solving that. If you get it right, mark a star on that chit, fold and reshuffle. Whenever you encounter that chit again, solve it again. If the answer is right, star the chit, but if it is wrong cut one star. Once you receive 5 stars remove that chit from your chocolate box and don't forget to have chocolate for yourself now! You will start this trick in greed but end up with habit of accuracy. Even I have practiced many questions this way and every time I encounter any chocolate question it gets correct automatically. Remember, this trick works only if yo...

How to make short notes?

Hello people😊 Now the very first and obvious question you all might be having right now is, What are Short notes? Is it just framing all the stuff in short sentences? Or writing a few lines about a chapter? Or just copying everything line by line? Ummm, sorry to say but none of them are truly true.  Actually short notes are the sum total of everything you cannot remember for long. In simple words, you should only include the information you know you won't be able to retain for a longer period of time.  Another very obvious question of course. How do you know what topics you won't be able to retain for a longer time?            Also should you make your own short notes or its okay to use someone else's notes?? See while studying, there might be certain things you know beforehand and quite probable you remember them well. There might be some things that skipped out of your mind but you recalled as you read them again. Now these thi...

#BONUS_TIP_No.2 How To Solve A Question in back exercise Correctly

Hello people😊 So as the title of the blog states, today I'm going to share with you all a very cool trick to solve questions in back exercise. This strategy is very simple.  Once you are done with solving examples, you are aware of a lot of tricks and methods to solve different kind of problems. Now you can go for attempting the questions without solutions. How to solve? First read the question properly, then try to identify have you solved an example similar to this problem or not? Probably you have. Now try to recall the steps that were there in examples and in case you are not able to recall the steps in examples, you should view that example once again or else you can proceed with the method as done in the example solving. Now let's proceed to Case 2: If you haven't solved that example before,  try to think what concept is used in the question. Do you know that concept? If yes, then try to solve that question with that concept. If you aren't able to solve then do...
